Remove caliper and slides clean slides grease slides refit slides job done.
If piston tight pop a pad out and pump pedal so piston comes out 1/4 inch or so, then using a stringe with a fine needle inject a little brake fluid through piston boot, push piston in and out a few times(not to far out) pad back in then give it a whirl.
The cheapest of the cheap rear calipers are actually okay.
Cheers
Points noted. 👍🙏

bless u as always my friend

trouble is I’ll more than likely get my local garage do the brakes for me, alas know he wouldn’t do that with regards to the syringe , trouble is it would be very difficult for me to get my 3 x ton jack out and the wheels off

saying that I will ask my neighbour who has always been very kind with anything that I need , ie, jack the disco up for me and get wheels off

talking of wheels strange my front left tyre started to go down, sprayed it with soapy water and found some leaks on the bead in various spots , think where it stands if it’s a case of rust build up etc , there 17” alloys , will get that sorted out by getting the tyre remounted

still have the 5 x 19” alloys I got , however will need new tyres which at the moment is a big expense , ie £800 for x 5 falkens ,

also at some stage The rear lower wishbones will need doing , ( mot advisory ) next year I’ll need a new oil pump , crankshaft seal and timing belt / aux belt , won’t bother with the rear belt seeing if it does let go doesn’t cause any harm

many thks as always

So. Not the back plates after all.

Scored the inside of the disc but not too bad.
