auto vs manual

So changed oil and had sump off the plug had filings on but pan was clean. crap job layed under the motor in a puddle as it ****ed down most the day lol all worth it in the end i hope anyway oil was horrible dirty brown.
New oil in gave it a run and seems to be changing to soon into 4th in D,goes from 3rd to 4th in afew seconds while only doin 35 mph
If i put in 3 then all seems to be ok goes up an down the gears fine.
So do i need to adjust kick down cable? Or just wishful thinkin will be that easy

adjusting kick down can alter speed of shifts ,but you might find it alters after its had a few miles,might be worth changing oil again if it was quite dirty

Sounds a good idea as was like chocolate dirty brown. Dont believe wot people tell ya is the lesson there.
What kinda job is doin the governor then? Easy? Hard? Will need to sort that soon aswell
