After removing the EGR valve I have been getting 550 to 560 miles per tank since.
So now having acquired a de-cat pipe i hope to find another increase.
I still have not cleaned out the inlet manifold of all the black crap and change the viscous fan to electric.
So hopefully more to come.
Went to remove my manifold after de cat can see two of the bolts but where are the other two
Manual is unclear
im going on a long, long journey in my disco. and want to find as many ways as possible to increase mpg, no suggestion too small. the more imaginative the better.
obviously things like air filter etc i know but specific suggestions would also much appreciated.
According to boy racers i met in halfords car park, the muffler tip made from a baked bean can is far better than a whole new performance exhaust and a k and n filter is usless, the sticker gives you the extra power! :doh:
yeh its got to be heinz though and got to be a catering size one aswell

take out the seats! oh and all the interior lining, oh and close your wing mirrors, sunroofs closed, remove arial, lose some weight, dont carry passengers, dont do any unessacary breaking against the engine, use the gears instead, avoid traffic, avoid traffic lights, avoid city centres, avoid hills, avoid rough roads, keep everything turned off inside, pull out needless relays, dont accelerate more than the arctic lorry is in front of you, stay behind the arctic lorry ion front off you, but not to far and not to close, ignore hitchikers, dont take luggage, remove tow bar, remove winch, remove sidesteps, remove roofrack, ummmmmmmm remove carpets, remove glovebox door, remove storage bins, remove spare wheel, change to road only tyres, dont fill the tank to much/or too little, remap ecu, blank egr, insert valve lifter/seafoam, insert redex/stp, ummmmm, remove boot door?? pray, and ummm oh wait a minute!!! you have already done the trip!! doh!
