eh what eh erm what eh
Yes, ask me again after the insurance quote
Right Flumps reality check time if you have to pay someone to drive all that way and back again 950 odd miles it's gonna cost you at least £500. You could buy a disco for that money.
If you can't find a trailer to put it on, you need to decide if your gonna risk travelling down there on the train and getting it sorted & driving it back That's gonna cost you the best part of £100 for fuel £50 for MOT plus any parts & another £100 for the train which will get you as far as Oban. If you've got a student or young persons rail card this'll be cheaper.
Everyway you look at it, It's gonna cost you the price of a cheap disco to go and collect it. My advice is forget it. Let someone else buy it and look for something nearer to home..
I actually kinda agree, I know you are really happy to have this series, and its cheap etc....but, doesn't have mot, insurance etc, added to the fact it is a very long way away..suddenly does not make it so cheap. You're assuming you can fix it in time to get an MOT in one morning, what if a problem is more complex than you thought/can deal with....
I'm not trying to put a downer on this at all, please don't think that I am, but it just seems alot of effort and money and i'm not entirely sure how it would work.
However if you are still set on it, I reckon your best bet is to do what redhand said, get GJ's disco or something, borrow a trailer, redhand to drive you up there, pick it up and come back, that way you don't risk breaking down on the way back, you'll have to pay diesel, but its cheaper than a transport company, also, it would mean you don't have to work on it/MOT it while up there, you can do that once you're back here which is surely easier.
Having said that, if you look in the right places you can pick up a bloody decent disco for peanuts, and it'll have an MOT. Have you ever considered a disco? or are you set on a series/90......I could help you with towing something if it came from round this are, I know of a few going at the moment.
Wow....what an essay, please don't hate me now!!!
