An appeal from LZIR to all members

If a thread is posted in LZIR or an obvious candidate for help elsewhere can people post on the thread even if they can't offer any help themselves to keep it current on 'live' please.

PMing Fanatic, Barmatt, The Mad Hat Man, Ratty or myself would also help to pick the thread up sooner (assuming inboxes with space

)

Any other ideas to avoid anyone being stranded?

Secure unit??

Is there anyway that if a thread is posted in the LZIR section a notification is sent to a people on the LZIR map? Then people are aware and can offer advice even if they are not nearby?

What about deleting/archiving threads that have been resolved and keeping the LZIR bit free of clutter.

Reporting threads that need moving to LZIR would work but migt **** off the mods of there are a lot of them

What? For a rescue? Nope, on the thread it appears on so it stays current on LZ live....more likely to get picked up that way by someone that knows how to check the map for closest volunteers and get the ball rolling.

Don't know about notifications, that could work.

I check LZIR every time I log on so anything new is highlighted but keep mostly to LZ live after. If anyone posts and I'm busy ranting on another thread

if nobody else posts on the thread it can easily be missed.

Even bumping it would help to bring it to the attention of someone close or someone that has useful advice.

Anyone can look at the map if they have a google account....the link is in the 'Everything you need to know.....' sticky in LZIR.....to find the closest members.

The weak link atm is getting the attention of someone with access to phone numbers

Yes but if none of a very few members is watching it wont get picked up.

A thread sat in there today for about 1 1/2hrs without being commented on

What about if folks with no lives of their own, who live on LZ virtually (see what I did there?) all the time, PM yerself, Daft and others involved in LZIR so you get notified.

May mean work for you guys to keep ya inboxes free, but may be a way?

I can't see the problem.
Anyone that sees a thread can phone, pm or email us and as soon as one of us responds, LZIR will kick into action.

Loads of peeps know our numbers etc.
