Almost happy...............DAMN KEY!!!!

Brief history:

When i bought the car it had a new battery fitted the day before so i had to redo the windows and sunroof...all fine however noticed that the key fob had no power...so just used the driver's side lock.

A few days later i got some new batteries and and refurb kit to make it look less like the key from my old frontera and more like one from a rangie.....anyway

With the new batteries in the little red light does light up....unlike before.

I have tried the normal smart sync (like its supposed to)....also countless other "hold the lock button and turn to lock..hold for three seconds" and every configuration of......both lock and unlock.....and together......NO LUCK

So please could anyone please help........

the car locks and alarms perfectly with the driver's side lock however just want to be able to use the remote..

BTW i only have ONE key so can't use another to elp unfortunately

Any thoughts would be great as do not want to have to go to a dealer....

Smart sync is only from about 99 on. Stand near the offside read window and try it, could be the aerial is disconnected to stop interferance flattening the battery.
