Air bags or Coils

Ok then it should have failed its last MOT but tester said he has fitted coils to others, also have had no flashes from other drivers about dazzling them. Yes the centre of gravity is higher but I have found no problem with stability, if anything it is more stable than its predicesor which was a Pajero and they are designed with coils and adjustable shocks. Personaly I think RR used the EAS as a marketing selling point for the wealthy who were the only one's that could afford them new, made it easier for his lordship to get in or out.
All in all I don't care as long as it's legal because the ride and stability is good and I really do not want to change back to EAS. Still want to know the story about the 110 though.

Oh god yeah, what a tragedy but I think it was more a fact that the motor was so badly maintained, driven badly and a total disregard for safety than having coils. Makes me glad that I'm fussy about maintenance, it should be a lesson to anyone that you cannot run any motor without good servicing, thanks for the link Steve.
A P38 Range Rover in my opinion is not for driving fast, I'm lucky that I have an Alfa for some excitment, my RR is the work horse but if it needs something it will get it and I think that most on here are the same because we care about the condition of them.
And guys if I felt the coils were dangerous they would be off in a flash, but I don't and will keep them unless someone proves otherwise.

It's not last years MOT you should worry about, the regs have not changed yet, it's what is coming:eek::eek::eek:

True and don't think there will be dispensations. The government will do anything to get older vehicles on lower tax higher emissions off the roads. Think they will see it as a way of culling so to speak.

Oh well there will be a lot of custom and modified cars on the scrapheap, I think it's a bit of scare mongering but we will see. If I have to refit the EAS I will but would I choose coils over EAS and the answer is a definate yes. 3 weeks away at work, come home, jump in and no suspension gremlins. If though we follow this through then it was not designed for a great big engine conversion by the likes of Overfinch, ok it probably has an approval but it was still not designed for it. Think I will try to find out if there is a DOT approval for coils.

It's a European directive, we had MOT for vehicles over ten years old until we got invlolved with the pricks in Brussels.

Aha looks like we agree on europe, time this country got some backbone and told the pricks to f*ck off.Think Ill take them up on my human rights, every other bugger does.

I have no objection to what we joined "The European free trade area". Were import tariffs were removed to make trading fairer. But this united states of Europe that we now seem to be part of, was NOT voted for by the British people. It was government driven by there paymasters big business that got us involved in that. I seem to recall us fighting several wars with large loss of British life to prevent Frogs and Krauts from ruling us. Then the politicians had us to them on a plate. Disgusting you could not make it up. But then again we do have a Kraut royal family.
