I get quite a lot of stuff from Craddock, they are knowledgeable, and usually get the stuff, although they don't always have it in stock, so they wait until they can fill the order before they send it.
They aren't the cheapest, either, but better at getting it right than some others.

Dingocroft I have always found very helpful when I have been there, but I have never dealt with them by post, so can't really comment on that.

Not found them too bad myself, one or two small slip ups maybe, but I think some of the stuff for older vehicles is getting hard to get now.
I always talk to them on the phone, and if there is a choice, usually go for the better quality item.
I read stuff on here about them being worse, and same for Paddock Motors, but I have been dealing with both on and off for 35 years or more, and can't say I have noticed any difference really. Both pretty good, but the odd slip up, Craddock maybe a bit better for older vehicles.

I use Paddocks, never had a problem with them. I also use LRSeries they often have one off or rarer parts. Sometimes ebay can be handy if you just need one small part quick (less postage costs) DLS have a website and an ebay shop.

It's the postage that can be a problem here to Portugal if using ebay some sellers do others not and if they use RM can make it worse...thanks for reply...Rob..

I used Brit car extensively during my refurbishment no issues at all, very helpful as well

It is a RHD uk vehicle built 1958 number 13 of the diesel production line thats why you see the master cylinder on that side but spent time in the Canaries before matriculated in 85 here and yes has a few mods and bodges...

It was the two big plastic reservoirs that I noticed. Series 2s had a metal can.

Has it still got the 2.0 litre diesel?

My experiences...

Craddock - Good, but recently slow (Covid-related?)
Paddock - Were OK, but stitched me up on their loyalty points scheme. I had cancelled an order and reordered stuff when I realised I had the wrong parts on an order, but they screwed up the points but just seemed unwilling to rectify it. Carp customer service. Probably OK if you don't have any problems on orders, but appalling if you need them to fix something. I'm boycotting them, now. Maybe I'm being petty, but it was not an insignificant sum.
LR Direct - my favourite. Very easy to add items assuming you know the part number, and easy to pick your manufacturer of choice. Quick delivery for most stocked parts, and the web site tells you if they need to order from a third party (Bearmach, for example) which will slow down delivery. Good prices, too.
Brit Car - useful for some items
eBay - excellent for 'one off' items where you'd otherwise incur a high delivery charge from the main suppliers,

https://www.lrworkshop.com/ is an excellent resource for checking part numbers and finding who can supply items, along with their prices. Has been very useful, although I generally defaulted to LR Direct for most items when I just knew what parts I needed.

I can imagine vision becoming blurred under hard acceleration is a serious problem! :D

Hard acceleration:D
Blue bell Hill Maidstone 3rd gear 30 mph at best, it would do 70 down the same hill, but engine had no guts at all, gawd knows what it was like with a load or a trailer on!

Ps to the op, get yourself the original green parts manual, searching by part number is then very easy.
You want the green early 1 piece manual as it includes loads of parts that were not fitted to later models.
