Looking for some information
Have bought a p38 2.5 diesel manual for bit off road fun
Went to buy lift kit and there ain't much choice and pricey £££
It has already been converted to coil springs looking to do 2" lift
From what a have been reading people have fitted discovery / rrc kits /coil springs to the p38 anyone on here done so ?
Starting to wish a just holded out for another classic ha
Anyone got a p38 off roader or any pictures for for inspiration

The thing is with the p38 when I want a lift I just press the dash mounted button for the eas I think your down fall is the coil convention. Saying that a search on Google did bring up the odd off roader p38.

Hi, if you want to lift it 2" then put it back on air and you can lift it 11/2" at will for offroading and lower it again for safer highway use.Best of both worlds

I know it's not want you want to hear. But I agree about the air suspension. Although if it's already been converted it might not be easy to put back. Essentially I'd just not have bought one without air.

On coils there is nothing really wrong with it. It'll perform very similar to a Disco or RRC. It's not exactly any different. Lifting it may not be the best thing though, same reason as lifting a Disco isn't (see the link in my sig for details).

If you don't care about keeping it tidy. Chuck some tall tyres on and trim the arches to suit.

After hours off reading finally found part numbers for coil springs 2" lift
To much hassle / ££££ fitting air back on
It will be getting put through its paces
Suspension / body lift arches / bumper mods and 285 75 16
Tyres
Thanks for all replies / info
Cheers

Good luck with those tyres on a manual. The clutch won't last long in high range. It will have the turning circle of a bulk carrier. Also illegal for use on the roads, your speedo will be miles out.

You clearly don't have anything better to do !!!!!
As thread states asking about p38 lift kits
Not your opinion on my tyres or speedo being out if you read the post states OFF ROAD TOY

It's not, at least not in the way told on this forum. But I'd let it rest and just get on with life tbh... ;)

Yes it is. Old speedo regs are plus or minus 10% at an indicated 30 MPH. That is between 27 and 33 MPH at an indicated 30. He would be doing 33.9 at an indicated 30. And 67.8 at an indicated 60. That is illegal. New reg for vehicles after 2001 is that the road speed cannot be more than indicated but can be 10% less.

How are you gong to get it there carry it? Manuals struggle to get away on a hill as they are, with the higher ratios the tyres would give you get a spare clutch you will need it.

Never heard off a trailer !! you genuinely are a bell for a end !!
Yawn your actually boring me with this threads getting deleted

Yeah i have heard of trailers. So why do you ask why it is illegal for the road? Instead of it doesn't matter it's not going on the road. You got good advice if you don't want to take notice that is your problem. How are you going to delete it smart arse?

So you reply with are you going to carry it expect that from a 5 year old !!!!!!
Curious because a have a ford f250 3" lift kit 285 75 16 tyres that tows all my stuff around
One yes the speedo is out a little
To which a adjust my speed
So who tests a speedo as it ain't a mot fail oh wait the now theres a jacked up vehicle no what we will pull that over as his speedo is going to be out oh but he's not speeding !!!
