I have +2 inch shocks and springs front and rear. 2 years ago the rear air pump gave up in -30c weather and I had been planning on converting to coils in the back, I got a cheap chinese "medium load" coil conversion kit from a local shop in a hurry. The ride quality ended up being quite nice compared to the air bags.

now 2 years later the rear is sagging quite a bit. What rear springs are you guys running in the back and what kind of loads ratings should I be looking at?

^^^ that's named cognitive dissonance, unless your SLS was not working well from the beginning ... though if you want something really good i recommend THESE but never expect to have the ride quality of one with air springs despite of your biased conclusion

Air springs don't automatically mean better ride. What they offer is variable ride height. However, the design of the air springs on a D2/p38a mean, the more inflated they are, the stiffer the spring rate is. Ie a more bouncy ride. The ride is softer when lowered. So, if you where running them in a raised setup mostly, then a metal coil spring could easily be more comfortable.

Maybe on the P38 as you can inflate all 4 of them more than normal and then it can be stiff but on the D2 being only at the rear if you inflate them more than normal the vehicle will not be horizontal and on a well calibrated D2 the ride is much better with SLS than with springs, especially if it's loaded.... i've compared not one
