To be fair to him I don't torque my wheel nuts either. I tighten them up properly as I've been taught and never had any problems whatsoever. Then again I'm pretty strong ;)

I don't either I just use the impact gun :p but he should check and re tighten them after a bit just to make sure they're still tight  if someone had tried to nick them I'm sure they'd have gone for more than one wheel

Unless he's ****ed someone off and they wanted revenge

well i went 4 some dinner n there was a bloke there whos a complete cock hes a bully n he dnt like me i wonder if maybe he loosened it off
afew yrs ago his m8 glassed me n hes just a bully himself hes strted on me afew times for no reason

Noooo that's even worse. I hate that. There's nothing more of a pain in the arse than when someone's putting yer wheel on and they just whack the nuts on with an impact gun or an air gun. You go to the gym don't you, use your muscles like you should ;)

either way i weigh 16 stone n if i put my weight behind the brace its gonna tighten

Overtightening can be as bad as undertightening, the studs stretch and the nuts end up loose.

Tell that to the dicks at Kwikfit.

I was quite shocked the D3 only requires 140Nm on the wheel nuts - it's not a lot really.

The garage i used last, well respected local tyre place, did the nuts up so much that when I then got a puncture in Scotland the garage snapped the snap-on socket trying to undo the wheel nut and gave up on me.

I got it off by whacking on a socket, then using a very long bar and a lot of jumping. (i then changed the hub to be on the safe side)

nah you give it a quick spin with the impact gun on low setting then torque wrench to finish the job ;) partly cos I'm lazy and it saves a bit of time per wheel
