I thought my prep was good, but it hasn't turned out that way. Nowhere near as good as yours, marra. Axles and radius arms are starting to come through and so will all need to be done again in the future. They've just stood for a year on the rolling chassis, never had any hard weathering!
For me, it would be doing things more thoroughly. Having said that, I would galv a lot more stuff next time. Having done one, I know what I would want to get galvanised. So would strip down the lanny, blast all the bits I wanted doing myself and off to the galvanisers. Experience is a wonderful thing I'm still currently suffering from a lack of it on my first rebuild
My prep may look better than it is, but that's why this time around anything that isn't being sent for galv is being painted in primer and top coat, so should I miss anything it shouldn't come through, top coat I'm still using rustoleum as I love the stuff, but the primer is corroless and at 3 times the price of the top coat I'm hoping it keeps everything at bay.
And yes experience helps, we never stop learning, I'm still learning every time I start another, I like to have a little change come a new project, have new ideas, learn something new (i.e spend more money)
I just hope my memory serves me well this time around as I have more stuff in pieces than ever before
I know you've bought extra axles, but you've got a canny collection of extra brackets and bits there, mate.
Cheers Just stuff I've accumulated over the years, stuff I've bought and never used or the project I never finished (or really started) last year, some of it I've no idea where it even come from.
Thought I may as well get it all cleaned up and sent for galv instead of just sat in boxes in the shed where it'll never get used.
