Hopefully I can get rid of the chassis next weekend as it's currently taking a lot of room up in the garage.
I guess the best thing is to scrap the chassis?
let us know what you get for it if you don't mind.
Im considering going down the calf chassis route in the summer and ill be trying to weigh all the scrap bits in.
How do you go about swapping the chassis numbers over to a new galv one?
Bloody hell you're shifting now mate
What's the halfway plan.?!
I was told it was a 10 week wait but it got to me in less than 4. As for the chassis scrap, personally I am cutting the section with the VIN number off to keep and scrapping the rest.
Ordered my marshland from paddocks on a Thursday, was delivered the following Thursday about £1400 delivered, td5 rear x member as standard and includes galvanised gearbox x member
Some old guy turned up in a sprinter, they just say there needs to be 2 guys your end, delivery was £160+vat not sure, there is loads of mounting points for All sorts of stuff! More than my old one
Oh and I think the chassis will be going to the scrap yard tomorrow. Any thing worth keeping off it? Other than the dumb iron.
Outriggers, springs seats? not for yours but for your brothers, does he have a galv chassis?
This was my thoughts to be honest. But then I thought am I just being a tight ####
Think I'll cut 'em of in the morning.
Haha!!!!!
No it's definitely worth removing them matey!! With a bit of luck you might have your bright shiner new chassis when I pop down.
What paint do you use on the axel.?! I'm looking at cleaning mine up and painting them. Hopefully I will be getting a replacement rear sooner or later.
possibly. Although I haven't rang any one yet. Need to pull my finger out and get it sorted
And I'm going to have a look up and see what other people use paint wise as I'm not sure at the mo. Will be brushing them instead of spraying them this time though.
Yeah you want something strong and durable. I was going to paint mine in Por15 and then apply a coat of coach paint over the top. Now im just about thinking about using Por15 and them giving them a good covering in waste oil!
