Well today is a day of mixed emotions, have spent the last couple of weeks swapping the engine back over, which was more work to convert back than I even remembered, but it's done now, plus some other bit's and bobs that I should have done a long time ago, fitted a spare wheel, a mud type dash and cd player, a cubby box that's been sat in the shed 8 months, just generally little jobs that was annoying me really.
So I just had a little urge and thought, ah I'll take it for an MOT tomorrow, so I rang them and asked if they could fit me in tomorrow.
They said yes, or if you can get here before 4pm we can do it today.
This was at 3:40 and I was still doing a few little bits and checks, but I said yes anyway.
Mad rush to chuck the steering wheel back on, find a funnel and stick some diesel in and off I went.
Lots of traffic and got their for 4:10.
Was still happy to do it, and is it just me that gets nervous for MOT's?
Anyway.. it passed
But a couple of things to note,
Washers not working (Forgot to fill it up doh!)
Number plate lamp not working. (Completely forgot and have changed it once)
And tracking is out, which I knew it wouldn't be perfect, just looked worse on his ramp than on my drive.
So happy days on that front It's been a bloody long time coming and nearly 2 years to the day since I started, (even if it would have been done 18 months ago if it wasn't for silly ideas)
But onwards and upwards, it will be nice to be able to use the thing again,
The other side of the mixed emotions thing, the end of defender production..
The last off the line.. you will be missed Land rover.. you will be missed
