Keep the old lock for spares, you can use the motor in any of the door locks. Sounds as if you had a micro switch problem.

Hi, at the moment it hasn't got any gas in it but then it has only been back on the road for a week since I had repaired the car after a blown head gasket.
I will be putting some in on Monday, assuming the LPG place is open being a bank holiday and all.
It'll be interesting to know whether the head gasket was a contributing factor to how it cut out at junctions when running on gas.
