A-Bar/spot clearence HELP!!!

On a side note; this is a design issue. The future! Things change. Is it reasonable for the A bar designers to believe that the design of a spot light will never change, so they never need to review their design?

same here, there's about a mil gap betwix me grill - more than enough

seeing as they aren't legal to sell new stock, there's no chance of that happening - they've just got to cater for the masses without the bar being stepped forward by 3 foot to allow for the bloke who's got some ex Wembley stadium lights of ebay and wants to fit them to his A bar

the point being, if they'd designed it to suit EVERYTHING, then that's about what it'd have to sit proud at

the OP is just a bit unlucky to have some spots deeper than whatever the designers deemed to be the norm

can always take off the mounts and weld them to the front of the bar, gaining about 40 - 50 mm

Ah don't have a mil between mine... the grille is pushed back a wee bit but no big deal;)

If ah was really that bothered ah'd get different spots (Safari ones) or get one of them mingin' flat grille things that's full o' holes;)
 
OK, Accepted.

My view was that all thay had to do was adjust the clamp a wee bit and they could make enough space for most of the popular brands of spotlights. I guess Wipac are amoungst the deepest, which is why this conversation started.

Personally, I would have paid an extra fiver to have the brackets adjusted for my choice of spots. Just an Idea. :)

p.s. Your brackets are not the same as mine. Maybe you have a bit more room. Did'nt figure that in my ranting.
 
i have a rebel 4x4 a bar that i just took off my spots used to fit fine with a bit of room between grille and spots 8" wipac ones pm me if you want to buy a bar.
