1 thou bigger is better than a poor surface, especially one that the rings will polish straight off ,but if you check size frequently you wont
yeah but thers 8 of them to do and I am too lazy to keep measuring
I will have to see if I can find a machine shop to polish the crank anyway so I could ask what they offer if I can find one I can bear to leave it with
you cant just borrow the use of a crank grinder and just bung your crank incrank polishers do use very fine belts
it may be hard to A. get in there and B. not bugger the seat for the pushrod
Thats why I was wondering about the coke (we have lots of pepsi left from New year etc)
However has anyone actually tired it? and would it knacker the wear face lol
Ok whats the deal with these pistons:
Land Rover Zone - fett's Album: Pistons - Picture
Looks like bore lubrication to me
so question is do we trust real steel to buy all from without worrying about there knowledge or quality of parts?
thats cool mark, I am thinking real steel for th bits I need but it adds up to about 1k for all the best bits I want, the stud kits add up when you need more than one lol
I am sure I saw somone doing a pre-stretched duplex timing chain and steel wheels. I want a non vernia type. very hard to get exaclty what you want lol.
what cam did you get and how is the quality (bar the rust?)
I got my rocker gear cleaned only to find the heads cracked on one side but luckily ebay supplied two rebuilt ones delivered from aus for £300 all in, just mean I have to wait 12 weeks for sea mail lol
though you were a v8 bloke ,you need to be carefull if changing rods or pistons ,you can soon distort piston and make them tightbit of an update, just seen/found out it doesnt have any little end bearings or circlips on the gudgeon pins.
they are press fits in to the pistons and run directly in the rods, never seen that before
