ok got ya, so how come you got at if you do mostly motorway ? , i do go off road occasionaly and its used all winter rain snow ice etc, i spose ive not gone off road in it for months due to the clutch being on its way out and nursing it through, but thats now been changed so i am good to do as i please, but i do have another set of 18" hurricanes in the shed with a near brand new set of tyres, i think il use them as a summer set after the comming winter

I'm looking to put Michelin 255/55 r19 on my freelander 2, is this ok? I know nothing about cars just joined here some advise.

You should then try Pirelli scorpions

Moved from nexens and they are better

If I'm honest, the scorpions are bloody awfull when it comes to tramlines.
They get "pulled in" and you really have to fight against them to get out again.

Not good IMO for a "good" tyre manufacture.

+1 - Cheap Nexen actually better than the spaghscorps:cool: Pirelli's quality control non existing

I have 18" GG on my l322 after having 16"on the p38.
Great. Pulled 2.5tne across a wet field last year.
Sure the tyres helped.
Fab tyre..

I agree
I had GG 18s on a shogun sport 4 years ago, it made the car awesome in the muddy stuff, better than the 16 BFGs I had on the p38 before that.

Anyway I have taken the plunge and I now have GG 19,s on the l322

Had to replace the front two tyres on mine. The rears are still good scorpions. The price of the new patern scorpions was very high so went for Nexen and wow what an improvement, no more tramlining and sudden change in direction. Very impressed with the Nexen. Same spec as the Pirreli too and nice and quite.
It was interesting to watch the tyre supplier balancing the tyres - on the machine the Nexens were totaly round, you could have put a lathe on them and no excess. Whenever I have had pirellis there was always a bit more tread (small but noticable) on one side to other!
