Hi All,

Further to my recent posts, on a bit of a fault finding mission. 1992 200tdi, runs fine, but recently upon revving - relatively hard - when stationary, the engine stumbles, doesn't stall, just judders for a second, then carries on idling. Drives fine, as in gear changes are ok, I just noticed it's when revving. I have since changed fuel filter, fuel lift pump, checked the lines, currently trying to replace the fuel stop solenoid as it could be sticking, but just can't budge the bloody thing, so next I'll check valve clearances. If it still persists, then Ideally I want to finally sort the fuel stop solenoid, however, hypothetically, if clearances are fine and solenoid is fine/replaced, any other ideas what it could be?

I mean it runs fine and has never cut out, the only reason I started all this is because I wanted to get to the root of the cause sooner in case it causes me a ton of grief down the line. Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, greatly appreciated. Checking clearances before the weekend and will see what that turns up.

Thank in advance all.

Have a good look at your intercooler pipes, these can squash under load restricting airflow

Pipes seem fine. Slight leak on one. However, I've just noticed one of the flange bolts on the timing belt cover has featured and there's a bit of a leak. I'll remove the fan and replace the bolts and get a better look at the pipes while I'm in there.
