Right here is 1 for you auto electricians. The other day my indicator dash light started coming on solidly without me idicating until finally it came on and stayed on along with the whole right side indicator bulbs- front, side repeater and rear. The idicator doesn't flash, it stays on constantly. Now the left side indicates as it should and the right just stays on solid. Even with the engine off. I removed the Hazzard switch...nothing, all fuses 1 at a time...nothing, wiper relay...nothing, flasher relay...nothing. Could not get them to turn off and this is with the engine off. I have a Cobra Alarm and immobilizer fitted and the indicators flash if alarm is armed and disarmed and if it is set off. I found the direct feed into near the indicator stalk from the alarm and cut the connection to eliminate the alarm effecting this. Again nothing, lights were on solid.
I then unplugged them from the indicator stalk and still nothing. Only difference happens when I touch the left indicator wire unplugged from the staok onto the right and then the dash bulb goes off and left indicator stays on solid with the right. This effect is the same when the Hansard switch is turned on. All idicators stay on solidly and dash bulb off.
So there it is, only thing I can do is disconnect front rear and side repeater to save battery running down.
All round lights are LED including headlights. Driven for months with these and no issues. Any ideas?

so when you indicate normally it comes out of the stalk as one wire, then somewhere pretty soon i would have thought it splits into four, maybe not all in one juntion, but you know that between where it comes from the stalk and where it splits the first time is where it has connected itself to non switched live, so i’d be looking round the loom on the bulkhead and behind the dash looking for any connections there shouldn’t be

As said, you need to start digging. I'm in the process of rebuilding my loom because of a few minor failures, one of them being the alternator to fusebox lives melting themselves to each other and a few others. There's not a very easy way of doing it but you need to access the loom and start untaping it. Don't strip it all mind or you'll have wires everywhere. Start at the points where it passes stuff or goes through the bulkhead etc. I know you say the led have been fitted a while but are you sure these aren't causing problems? Did you change the flasher relay to compensate for the lesser current draw? Fit resistors?

I changed the relay but did not fit resistors. Should I uplug the indicators 1 by 1 to see if it goes off?

Probably not. That will lessen the load. If you changed the relay for the correct one for leds then fitting resistors is not needed, it's one or the other.
How easy would it be to refit the original flasher relay and six indicators? That will tell you whether it's wiring at fault or your led setup.
I was going to fit led units to my rebuild project but changed my mind the other week because I didn't want the electrical hassle.

I should say my alt cables meted onto exhaust manifold at some point and are a bit exposed. I've cable tied them onto coolant pipe out of the way and parked it for a job in the future. Is it possible this is the issue?
 
Don’t want to sound big headed but your time is worth doing what I said first, don’t start changing your flasher can or unplugging the corner lights, if it is just on unless you unplug the battery and the other indicator and hazard works fine then it cant be much

I tried tracking the cable back from the stalk. Bit tough getting into behind the dash as tvwts where it goes and then through bulkhead centre. Couldn't find where it split as all in a loom when though took some tape off, limited working through area the Speedo after pulling that out.
This has just about defeated me! Was working my way back from the stalk. No affect until I was packing up and it was dark I noticed a glimmer coming from the left side repeater. After grabbing the loom behind the left headlight the left indicators went on and stayed on. I almost s#:t a brick! The right side wasn't affected at all. Luckily the left side then went off leaving just the right. No idea where to start in the morning.
 
Obviously in squeezing/pulling/pushing that loom something touched, you need to find a problem in that area as well then, if need be strip off the loom tape or take the headlight out, there is clearly a major problem in that area alone you need to fix properly
 
Omg! There's a black and white wire in one of the plugs from the loom on the engine bay, this has unplugged itself. Sticking that back together and all working as it should now!!! You all know how happy I'm feeling right now I'm sure! Many thanks for the help and emotional support!!

Disregard my last they're back on!
 
Right so there's a fault in the loom inside the chassis. Isolated the fault and put a bypass in. Working fine now, but think I've got to pull the loom out to see what else is fried.
