My landy td5 loses power and has black smoke sometimes when I drive at start or a few minutes later. I have cleaned the red connector at the ECU. The fuel regulator and battery power are one year's old. Any ideal of how to diagnose the problem?
Thanks,
Kai

I would start by having a look at your turbo hoses aren't blocked collapsed !
+1 also check you dont have any loose hose clips or leaky hoses.
Black smoke is over fuelling, usually caused by an air leak, the MAF thinks the air flow is higher than it actually is, so ECU adds more fuel.
