Can you advise where spigot bush goes as there appears to be what looks like a spigot in the middle of the flywheel however I never fitted one and it was auto before

Clutch looks pretty knackered too

Yes I have also put in a 90 v8 gearbox as 4 pot diesel is way different. V8 bolted straight in and just moved engine mounts.

When you say it bolted straight on and just moved engine mounts, do you mean you had to move the chassis engine mounts and weld them in a new position, or do you mean you could just move them on the engine? If that makes sense. Looking to do this conversion and i don't have a welder

Yes you need to cut off old mounts and move them forward to where the engine mounts holders sit, quite easy even if your a novice a friend of mine did them for me with a mig only took half hour. Engine sits forward quite a bit gives good access to bell housing and rear of engine

ah okay, i thought you had to weld them but you were quite nonchalant about it :p

So just cleaning up engine a bit whilst its out

suggest you put your alternator query on the V8 section - loads of knowledge on there chap and most of the boys are very helpful........................

I think the smaller cable MAY go too the rev-counter.

Is anybody able to help with the alternator issue please?
the terminals are marked on the back of alt ,battery (brown)live thick wires go to b+ thin ignition (brown/yellow)light wire to d+ white/grey to w,switch on top hose elbow is for aircon fan, coil will have 2 wires one on - one on + from dizzy module ,one ignition live to + and a ecu input on - have you put some of theses on alt ,battery live wires are brown ignition live white

So did a little bit of rust removal today on the rear ground down alot of the big patches of rust off the chassis and treated with some rustproof black gunk.

Got new springs and some poly bushes coming to lot back on so will do other side this week.

I've got the dreaded dvla inspection on Saturday to get the v5 details changed not looking forward to that
