After returning from holiday my p38 had a flat battery and locked me out. A friend has managed to charge the battery but the car still won't let me in. When I can get in and start the car it runs like a dream after spending over a grand on the air suspension last year. I cannot open a door with the key and after following the handbook to the letter still no luck. I know absolutely nothing about cars and am now flat broke. Can anyone HELP or is my pride and joy destined for the scrap yard .Thanks in antisipacion

If it has battery power or not you should be able to open the drivers door with the key whether it's superlocked or not. Vehicle can be superlocked with key or superlock disengaged with key. However if it has been superlocked with Fob and superlock disengaged with key you would need to enter the EKA code to start the engine. Just as it would if the car had been normally locked with Fob and unlocked with key. Superlocking means the car cannot be opened from inside, but it can still be opened from outside.

A lot of people report EKA only works second time it's entered

Could the barrel be physically shot?

Have you put anything like WD in the barrels?

The barrel connects to the latch via a rod. The drivers door should open with the key no matter what the locked state is. I think the rod has become disconnected. The connection method for the rod at barrel end was changed for later models and it is crap compared to earlier method of attaching the rod.
