Wifey does her best to accommodate the visit of a technician to fit her Mum's house up for a full "old folks monitoring package".
Bloke arrives and says, ok what's your mum's Amazon account and internet log-in?
Wifey says hey what? After some discussion it seems that her brother has suggested to the frailty team at the hospital that his mum should have a full monitoring package so they have ticked ALL the boxes on his behalf, camera's fall-over sensors, wrist-band alarm, necklace alarm. Wifey says, well none of that will work because mum doesn't have an amazon account and she switches off all the plug sockets and pulls all the plugs out when she goes to bed. Installer man leaves scratching his head.

We hunt for the instigator of this farce and...guess who it is? Yup the Brother that doesn't show up for anything.
She contacts him and says WTF are you thinking? He says "I can't see what the problem is."
The problem is that other people are making rods for my wife's back, that's the problem.
She has decided to ignore all of them on their little whatsapp group and just keep on doing what she does for her mum.
So the grandkids setting up hair and nail and beauty appointments for the old gal had better be attending themselves because my missus isn't dancing to their tune anymore.

Sorry if I came across as abrupt but they like it here as an easy solution. To me a plasterboard wall in a bathroom is asking to do it again in a few years.

Stud wall sound proofing is not good for many reasons too :vb-weyes:.

Made me think this was an open space, and that the "wood butchering" would be the cutting up of wood to make studs and noggins!! No mention of rooms yet. ;);)

***, 792, in reply to my question about what you were going to do with the space, came after my reply and mentioned the 3 rooms etc. So I thought it was an open space before that hence my reply!!

Cannot agree more about the flimsyness of stud "walls". We have those in our frog place. The sound insulation is really pants.
Only matters in the "Guest wing" which happens to be to the East! A "night hall", off which, from left to right, north bedroom, bathroom, south bedroom. So those in one bedroom can hear sounds from the other. The bathroom was "dry" walled out in green plasterboard, but I made flipping sure the tiles were grouted properly and then treated with waterproofing stuff. ;)

Personally I don't see that as from bad to worse. I think your W is winning now.
That complete griot of a Brother who is the most selfish idiot in the universe needs to be cut out and off from any interaction with her. Maybe even an injunction of some kind. Is there no way of protecting her from interactions with no supervision with him and other negative people? When his self -interest isn't the only thing then he seems to just be interfering almost for the the fun of it.
Honestly I couldn't keep my hands from going around his throat. :mad::mad:
 
Noo pooter up and running except that I cannot for the life of me get Mozilla Thunderbird to run on it.
Which is a total pain as so many of my contacts use this.
And I use it all the time.
If I cannot get this to run on it then what the flip is the point?

I might, just might, be able to get it to "run" but I cannot get it to run with my email address despite it presently running on two other pooters.

I also may have caused the end of our induction hob.
I hate the flipping things anyway.
W is too ill to want to eat so, as often happens, I was doing my dins.
Put a pan on a ring on the hob with oil in it to start cooking my veg. Then got distracted. Forgot it. Eventually smelt burning.
Why the smoke alarm didn't go off I have no idea, I will have to test and maybe replace it.
Pan bottom inside coated with black sticky stuff. Under it burnt kitchen paper, hob protector that seems alright then another layer of burnt kitchen paper. The ring has a layer of burnt on stuff on it. No idea if I'll be able to clean it off this time.
I have promised W that if it can't be cleaned up I'll buy her a better one.
TBH it ain't up to much. If you ask it to use 3 rings it don't like it. We have never tried 4 rings!! AEG. Forget it!:(:(:(

Yep I worked out that it came with Windows 11 already on it although for some reason it was bothered about my Microsoft account.

The delay is down to the gearbox bloke going to take longer than I understood.
So we'll be here for Easter. Not the end of the world, altho W doesn't see it that way!.
Best of luck with the party we are down to only just over 200 bots.
