Hard to express. Put your foot down in low RPM's and it is sluggish and sometimes we get the dreaded detonation in the inlet.
Press gently and it gradually picks up and then the cycle repeats for your next gear change occasion. BUT, have it revving nicely and it will keep pulling. e.g. Up a big mile long local hill I was doing 50 in 4th gear and it still wanted to pull.
Summat isn't right and I don't want to just keep throwing more petrol in the bores as I have no idea what the AFR is, or if it is still a timing issue.
Just a thought regarding vac advance
Putting your foot down retards the ignition, lifting it off advances ignition to allow for leaner mixture.

Sounds like timing id retard it a couple of degrees & see if it runs better you may have to mess about with your AFR though.
I recently had to mess about with a boat carb engine.(inboard) Loads of people been looking at it for 2 years. Starts cuts out backfires ect sometimes runs then wont start the next day. New carb, fuel pump, leads coils bla bla I retarded the timing to 14 degrees should be 10 runs sweet as a nut now. These things take time to sort out just a wee tweak at a time & you'll get it. :)

Had this earlier...................:p

Put the big back seat back in the Disco, which I have to take out every MOT time as I bust the lock-up mechanism a while back and have yet to get around to fixing.
Flipping thing weighs loads. I move it with a sacktruck, one "whoop" and it's in the back, but positioning the flipper and then bolting it in, what a pain. Every time I do it I swear I'll fix it, but just never seem to get around to it.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Now we Av Ocado all the time, the drivers... well we never see the same one twice unlike afore with Waitrose.
The one who came Friday was an absolute car nut, so we had quite a chat.

He had a Freelander once. He told me he spent so much on it that in the end he was very norty.
To try and recoup some dosh he had a mate of his ram the back with a JCB. He then told the insurance it had happened in a pub car park.
How they swallowed that I don't know. :(
