Both mine have one…… I think.Odd, Range Rovers used to come equipped with a rather decent bottle-jack.

My P38 has one and so did my DiscoBoth mine have one…… I think.
That's because they knew L322 owners would have a Recovery truck following them at all timesthe l322 comes with a flimsy sizer jack
I keep a bottle of jack in the boot![]()
i keep a jacket too, but not jack
I keep a bottle and a couple of jackets , but not a bottle of jacks.i keep a jacket too, but not jack![]()
Instead of ambulance chasers the new(ish) thing is recovery trucks being L322 chasersThat's funny you should say that I saw both an l322 and a freelander 1 on two separate recovery trucks on Wednesday night![]()
I have used the jack that comes with the L322 at the side of the road and TBH its scarey, it has to be wound up along way to get the wheel off the ground. But it is up to the job just dont instill the confidence of the bottle jack in the P38. At the end of the day its a mechanical thing that works, It has a simialar base footing as the bottle jack so whats the diff (dont look nice but) Do any owners actually check thier bottle jacks have oil in and it hasnt leaked out?
Plus the wheel brace suppied is not really fit for the job.
I carry a socket and bar, well actually 2 sockets, as the stupid covers are getting ripped off.

With a bottle? Or a plastic bag?I've got fish in mine![]()
bad shocks, plus its a beemerSo the Golden girl and I have been driving around 'civilisation' today and we saw an odd thing. Nothing new in the cities and towns but I was more puzzled than usual by this one. there was a little 1989 3series beemer in front of us for a while. every time we stopped it started bouncing. Probably a good couple of inches of travel each direction.
Anyone know what might have been wrong with it? Apart of course from the dark place my mind went with the 'someone tied up in the boot trying to escape'.
bad shocks, plus its a beemer
Well I did think 'beemer, yeah must be a body that wasn't as dead as they thought when they put it in'. I did wonder about shocks but it seemed to travel over potholes without dancing.bad shocks, plus its a beemer
if its a bad shock, the wheel will dance over a pothole, while the body stays fairly stillWell I did think 'beemer, yeah must be a body that wasn't as dead as they thought when they put it in'. I did wonder about shocks but it seemed to travel over potholes without dancing.
Neither happen. It just travelled as normal BUT every time she stopped it was bouncing like there was a party going on. If we weren't tight for time for dog's appointment I would have followed her into the car park she went into. Just to askif its a bad shock, the wheel will dance over a pothole, while the body stays fairly still
