Sorry, is you car a P38? If it is there are no CV joints at the rear. Wheel bearing on the P38 does indeed need a 20 tonne press the alternative is to replace the whole hub.
Yes its a p38, silly me forgot solid axle. So thats more of a bugger aint it.. Im convinced its coming from the rear.
i guess i must check for play in the wheel?
my last audi had 2 bad wheel bearings both on left side. Didnt grind or make any sounds. It pulled toward the left tho, especially whilst braking.
the p38 occasionaly makes a whine, usually reversing and slighly turning left or right.
If theres no play, i guess i can take the wheel off and inspect the bearing?
I must fix this asap, as i need the car. Im obviously on my stupid afternoon shift the whole week!!
so, the job i need to do now, is to see if theres play in either rear wheels? Cv joint ruled out as solid axle? (No joint?)
Differential ruled out as it dissapears turning left?
so i have : Wheel bearing or a really odd UJ situation?
it shakes like a washing machine, no joke. I can hear the becm/incar fusebox vibrating. Poor becm getting thrown around
also, with swivel you mean Ball joints? My head can not process swivel.
would a rear trackrod produce a clunking/mechanical sound at low speed tho? I assume its the clunking/mechanical sound getting worser the higher the speed is, turning into vibrations.
It also feels like the rear end goes un-even, as im driving over un-even road, even tho im not
