Not sure but apparently this is the second time it's happened so something's not right somewhere. It's probably not worth it if I find many more broken bits

Used motor best choice then. Give him a good quote, then offer to buy from him/her in the condition it is in, then repair it and sell. Money for your Aussie holiday

Ask dad to float you a loan to do it after hours, Could make a thousand quid or so on a project. Thing is not worth much more than scrap at this point and time

That has to be a 6-7(or bit more) ton tractor? them straps don't look to be rated for that?

They look no different to the straps on thousands of haulage lorries all over the uk.

Well the way it is tied with them being crossed/twisted each strap has it test weight capacity, reduce by 50% or a touch more

To be honest he has about double the straps compared to what I usually see round my way at the agri place, it's not like the tractor is going to be towing it fast for a long distance or it would be on an arctic low loader.

I am guessing it's just going up the lane.

look at the size of the ratchets, them are light weight ones 2". 3'' or 4'' are in the load tie down range for that tractor size

the thing is thor just posts stuff without thinking about it.he must think it will be doing a long trip strapped like that.like you say it will be going to a farm up the road probably.
