This could be a bonus for a fitting kit though as the holes dont line up between the carrier and the D2 holes due to the size differnce so an adater can be made to make it fit.

I don't know if it would be a cost effective or overly useful mod but there must be applications for increased braking performance ? :)

I wonder what D3 brakes are like in comparison ?? Hmmmm

Why don't you just sell the d2 and buy a d3 / d4? :p

i genuinely thought it would be a grinder job to remove it.Obviously the owner is a stickler for maintenance though.:D

Straight in with it no messing, the splines were still well stuck even after I chopped the flange

Well its also javing new pads all round, new callipers, rear hub seal, shock bushes and a new rear section exhaust and thats just to get through MOT

So tonight looked a little like this :p

So one on my mates (one of the green td5's) has been having troubles, the other day it conked out on his dad and required a rac recovery

So we get it back to his farm change the fuel filter and then discover oil in the loom. So a new injector loom was ordered and fitted and seemed to be better :) but then it died again. Managed to get it started again (forever winding over) and gets to my workshop. Next thing we change is swap my ECU for his as mine is known good

Well by known good I thought it was untill I found oil on mg loom too  (injector loom yo order tomorrow  )
But still runs fine, I put my ecu on his and still wjnds over forever.

So next we swapped fuel pumps in the tank.

Great started up fine :D so we drive to town to get a pizza :D

Then it dies at the lights. Looses power and konks out :(

So we push it to the takeaway  and call a mate for a tow home (another TD5 :D )

But after holding the key in 2nd position for a while we finally got it to start and manage to drive home

Almost ... conked out at my gate

So now its sitting on my ramp waiting for a look at tomorrow evening

My next thought is injector seals, as I could hear a whining sitting in the back when it was in his motor but when I put it back in mine .. nothing so im thinking air in system making it cavitate and make noise. Plus its a fairly cheap solution

Any other thoughs ?

Bloody landrovers

So folling my mates running problems came to this tonight

Trying to find a damaged injector seal and hopefully we found it

There's a small u shaoed dent in the injector which we hope is letting in air from the piston and screwing up yhe fuel pressure (crosses fingers)

We've seen it before so hopefully some new o rings and seals will solve it

If not its the ECU :(
