They are positioned in the top cover, one under a plug on the top for 1st/2nd, one on each side for 3rd/4th & reverse. there are 2 L shaped brackets being held in place by 2 bolts each from the top, I think it's the left one for reverse detent spring & right for the 3rd/4th detent spring.

Don't worry, there are plenty of LR nuts that will help, series LRs are so basic a child could fix it.

It will be the detent springs, easy enough to change with out taking the gearbox out, have you got a muppet annual? sorry I mean Haynes manual;)
