    Shocks / Springs Question

If your going to get it lifted then you'll have to change the springs anyway! Loads of brands on the market, spaning from ludicrously expensive (Old Man Emu) to mid range (Bilstien) to cheaper (Pro Comp). Grab a copy of Land Rover Monthly, every man and his dog sells complete lift kits at...

Was watching a 4 x 4 is born, want to make my land rover specail.

The OEC 90 is lovely, no doubt about its quality either. But its a full on challenge truck. Its going to be crap on the black stuff and your going to need to keep it in a vault as it'll get knicked in about 15 minutes if you leave it anywhere. And dont even think about the cost of...

Was watching a 4 x 4 is born, want to make my land rover specail.

Standard 90 hardtops have 3 if you include the middle seat. 110's no longer have seats in the load area due to new laws, so 12 seaters are out. If your going to going mad off road then a truck cab is best as they are lighter and smaller. But its splitting hairs for the average driver. If...

Was watching a 4 x 4 is born, want to make my land rover specail.

Do you want a posing vehicle or an actual challenge truck? If you want a landy that looks really hard, just go get a Tomb Raider special edition. It has all the shiny bits already bolted on. If your not going to be using it really hard off road then hardened drive flanges, locking diffs...

    What size tyres to fit?

I'm no expert, just talk to the supplier you have in mind, and if they are any good they should see you right. My 33 by 12.5 Khumo's required both a very deep dish rim and 15'' diameter rims. Some of the larger tyre sizes (anything from 33'' up) require a 15'' rim. Maybe get some tyres in...

    Can you paint Galv'ed steel

Alot of the websites are saying that, the older it is the better. Mine have been well weathered for sure as they are covered in crap most of the time! Im going to try and get hold of some primer first and see how that goes.

    Can you paint Galv'ed steel

Googling just brings up a load of old bollocks as usual. Knew i'd get a quicker answer on her, thanks! Edit: Looks like Hammerite make some, so actually it was me talking bollocks- not google.

    Can you paint Galv'ed steel

Is this a stupid question? I have no idea. Ive got galvanised Tree sliders on my 110 and I want to colour code them to the bodywork, or paint them black. If I can get paint to key to galv at all, anyone know if I need a special primer? Cheers

    What size tyres to fit?

Anything up to 33''. 35's will probably rub your steering components. Just make sure you get rims with the correct offset.

    Trifor Cable

Thinking of getting a Trifor off be-gay as they seem to be going for so little money it seems silly not to have one. Question though: few on there don't have cables with them, do they use a special cable with a tapered end to help you thread it through the winch or will any old winch cable do...

    Best Tyres for off roading?

Everyone is going to recomend you something different. Personally I run 33'' Khumo KL's and they are great. But they were 130 a tyre. Maybe a search on this forum might help: www.devon4x4/forum Pretty much every man and his dog on there has a 20k challenge truck so they give good advice...
