    front tints..........what you think?

Not only that, it's definitely dangerous driving at night, especially if you pull out of a side turning with no lamp posts nearby. I had mine on the front for three years, and it's very difficult to see, say a cyclist with no lights approaching. Was luckily never stopped, but mine must have been...

    Security ideas ?

I'm no technical wizz kid, but maybe there's a way to wire up a recording to come through the speakers saying loudly and continuously "THIS VEHICLE IS BEING TRACKED" at 3 to 4 second intervals. Obviously the owner would have to have a secret switch to turn it off before starting the engine...

    immobaliser question

Mine played up and I had both conditions at various times as per you have, plus occasionally the engine would just die while I was driving. By-passed the immobiliser, not had a problem since.

    clutch doesn't seem to disengage.

I had the same prob. First changed the master cyl as I thought it was that. Was ok for a few days, then pedal almost right down on floor again before I could change gear. Then thought it was clutch gone / clutch arm broken through, so had clutch out to check. Was neither but put new clutch back...

Here's quite a good site for browsing around

Ha, no I don't work for them, and could probably get all of the goods cheaper in the UK, but I like to use sites like these for ideas of my own, re kitting the landy out for any travelling etc. Also noticed there were some good travel images on there as well. Maybe others have similar sites they...

    Rear end bottoming out

Well I've got the same prob with my 1996 Tdi also. Was thinking about these eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace. But still a bit confused by the ratings / flex, so gonna wait a while till I'm sure of the best choice.

    Belt noise

Try spooning some flour or chalk dust onto the inside of the belt while the engine is running. ( Slight safety hazard ) Don't get the spoon tangled up with the belt though, otherwise you may not have two fingers left to stick up !!

Clutch query - how much pedal travel??

Well can't see any leaks, but reservoir was just below min after the new master had been fitted and run for a bit. That's what made me think perhaps there was still some air in system, hence a further bleed maybe.

Clutch query - how much pedal travel??

1996 Discovery 300Tdi Manual Hi all. A couple of weeks ago, just suddenly, my clutch pedal went 3/4s of the way to floor before "catching" to change gear. Would partially come back up, but then wouldn't return fully unless I hooked my toe under it and pulled it back up. It would then stay up...

Locked out of Disco mk1 Help!

You could try gently tapping a wooden wedge with a sharp leading edge approx 35 degree angle in at the top of the door adj the handle side, just enough to make a gap at the top so you can slide some contraption down to attach and pull up the lock tab. Maybe one of those 3 pronged grabbers for...
