Discovery rear work lights?

Hi thinking i need some work lights on the back of my disco.
But as there isn't much room for mounting lights on the rear, was wondering what members on here have done to theirs??

Im currently in progress of making a sort of large light frame for the rear of the roof using 2 bits of pipe bent to the contours of the roof, going to be joined in the middle and have 2 beacons ontop, 2 work lamps pointing back and provisions for spotlamps pointing forwards although I havent got spotlamps for the front I kinda want that option for later on :)
 
Sounds good mate, as i haven't got a roof rack to stick em on.
Thought i saw a pic on here of the back of a disco with very small spot lamps mounted to the top of the door above the glass?

very similar to the "Anorak" link given above (which is where my inspiration came from), but since I have no roof rack I mounted the high level brake lamps and the work light on a simple (gutter attached) roof bar

I saw something like that, but not sure it was on a Disco, not even sure it was an LR truck, two ball-shaped 2 or 3 inches diameter things ...

anyway, a source for all your switches needs, might be well known for UK people, but I was so glad to find them I am happy to share

Yep sure it was on here but can't seem to find it now?
Looked a good setup with 2 tiny white spots fixed to the top of the rear door.
If i can find it i'll post a link.

there are Micro Fog units from Hella, but not exactly on the cheap side, usually in the 20 to 30 pounds each

on another project I needed inexpensive small round and powerful lamps to go inside a bumper, the ones I used (from Bulgaria) are those presently offered as item 170684228195
at less than 10 euros for a pair (8.50 pounds) you might be surprised they actually work, but the bracket wouldn't accept frequent moves, so ok for a fixed or semi-fixed orientation
 
I used to have the square Hella work lamp fitted via the CB mount, but thought it looked odd with only having one, so then I switched to having 2 round work lights fitted.

I have them wired op via a 2 way switch, so either they are completely off, come on as reversing lights, or on independently ie as working lights, and powered via my second battery, so no chance of not starting if I use them for a long period

I fitted the switch just near the ignition switch on the dash so easy to get to, and also when I fitted them, covered it all in Tiger Seal, so I know it won’t leak – although it was a right pain to get a spanner to the nut inside.....

Also, I have used the lights on my light bar in the same way, have them wired up again to 2x 2 way switches which are on the overhead sunroof console, which control the outer pair and the inner pair in much the same way as the rear work lamps, but they come on with the high beam, or again independently, and again are ran off my second battery…..

Can i ask if the rubber mounts came with the lamps?

Yup, enough room, but like I say, its a sod to get a spanner to the nut inside....
Rubber mounts came with these work lights - as for where from, there was a stall selling them at the latest LRM show - £10.00 for the pair - so had to get them at that price.

As for my square Hella light, I have put on a very long cable with a cig lighter plug, so I can use this as a lamp if I need to do any work in the dark ;)
 
That's what I thought - so bought them knowing I would make them fit at that price ;)

Yeah, one 30amp relay is fine to run them both, as they are 55w each, so thats just under 10amps for both of them.
 
Good question - will measure them and let you know once I get back home tonight....but reckon around 6" from memory
