    Rovacom Lite for sale

Hi everyone, I have a Rovacom Lite complete with the modules for 14CUX injection and EAS1 (electronic air suspension 1) which I've used for a number of years with my Range Rover Classic. Anyone who is familiar with this package will know that many diagnostic modules can be bought and used as...

broken half shaft on '85 classic

I had exactly the same problem a few years back; unless there is a large length of the shaft left in the diff that extends beyond the splines, it will come out fine with the diff. Normally they seem to break right at the end of the splines, so you shouldn't have any trouble getting the diff out...

Thanks everyone who replied, I've found them on YRM after all! Now I just need to find someone to weld it on..... Rob

Rear Axle are they all the same?

Thanks for your reply; I've had a look at YRM, as I've bought things from them before but they do not do any mounts for the rear axle, only the front. Rob

Rear Axle are they all the same?

Hello Everyone, I have a problem with my 1993 RRC rear axle, one of the radius arm mounts on the axle has rusted away and snapped off - not a nice driving experience at all  What I wanted to ask was does anyone know whether the axle casings changed with the addition of air suspension or...

    Supercharger!!!!!

Suck through sounds better, easier to set up your carb and you can always get more boost than your engine can cope with, sprintex are good, but you need to be careful that you don't dial in too much boost. Good luck, I love superchargers!:)

    Help! Torque converter

If it is a trader I would steer well clear, a torque converter should not be affected by temperature, more likely the gearbox is at fault! I would not be tempted to go any further with this. Let's face it, if it was an easy fix they would have done it themselves!

Bigger turbo for p38 dse ???

Once you start playing with boost pressures and you don't really understand what you are doing, your engine life can be measured in days, or weeks at most. If you want more power I would advise you buy a more powerful motor. Trust me, if you do start playing with your turbo wastegate it won't be...

    Classic Diff problem

When the viscous coupling seizes, then no difference in rotational velocity is permitted between the front and reap propshafts, this is what causes wind up when cornering, or turning etc. Eventually, the wind up will cause something to break, when the first thing breaks, other than a nasty noise...

    Head Gasket

A new block sounds serious, why do you think you need it? Unless procedures have changed considerably for the better, I wouldn't touch a recon radiator. A new OE radiator might be expensive, but they will last and give you one thing less to worry about.

    Misfiring 1985/86 RR V8

Do you have access to a stroboscopic timing light? If the engine will run at tickover, then a strobe on the crank timing markings will soon let you know whether the timing is out. You need to connect the strobe to No.1 plug and loosen the dizzy base plate clamp, you can then rotate the dizzy...

    Eas how long?

Do you get all three ride height lights coming on when you start the car up? They should all come on for a few seconds and then all go out, if they don't it's possible that the timer relay is faulty, I had this problem myself and it caused some seemingly unrelated problems. The purpose of the...

    Classic rear arch repairs

I would cut the old ones off with an angle grinder first, this is pretty easy! How are you planning to fix the new arches? Will you weld them on? I only ask because that won't be easy, I've done plenty of steel welding, but I wouldn't fancy my chances with aluminium much! Clearly, they don't...

My RRC 94 works in progress

Looks a very nice job, should easily outlast the rest of the car! Makes me feel a little guilty when I think about the patchwork quilt that is my boot floor. Nice welding too!

    Electronic speedo rebuild

Hi Zen, Yep, I had exactly the same problem, one of the four "fingers" inside the reset mechanism that pulls the numbers around to zero had snapped off, jamming the whole thing. I fixed the trip "finger" back with superglue and it now resets fine. If, as Wammers says the needle should come off...

    Electronic speedo rebuild

Just thought I would update everyone. There is no hair spring in this type of speedo. The spindle engages with a magnet that is sealed with the coil assembly. Providing you can locate the spindle in the magnet accurately, the speedo will work fine. I've put a bit of clock oil on the spindle and...

    Shall I shant I?

Sounds like worth a chance to me, I would offer him £500 for it,in fact if you don't want to take the chance I would offer him that much myself :) Good luck!

    Eas how long?

Yes, it will need recalibrating for your car, as the stored ride heights for the car it was on will be very unlikley to match your ride height sensors perfectly. I would definitely get your ride height readings checked out by someone with the correct software, I think Datatek can supply leads...

    Eas how long?

Your EAS should not enter access mode automatically, it should resume on the last setting you selected (or was selected automatically due to road speed). Regarding pump running, it can run little and often when you are in traffic, but not stationary, only pressure changes in the resevoir can...

Brake fluid change would you do it?

Definitely a job worth doing, as previously mentioned brake fluid is hygroscopic, it absorbs water over time and in severe braking conditions this can lower the boiling point enough for the fluid to boil - not good at all. I've done my classic plenty of times using a Gunson air assisted brake...
