    Loosing Coolant but not overheating

Almost a year old thread, but just in case someone drops by or still has the problem: The expansion tank itself is known to crack and leak and the original part ESR2935 is replaced by part number PCF101410, probably a better design. I was losing coolant over almost 2 years without being able...

    gearbox fault in the rain...

Could be the gear position switch, if the breather hose falls off water will come in. The fault can also be seen by checking the lights beside the stick and on the instruments, sometimes they show wrong gears, mine showed 1 on the stick light, R on the panel while it was actually in D. WHen I...

    wheel nuts on a p38

Be aware that the nuts are different from wheels before and after 2006, so you cannot buy nuts for a new 2008 and use on rims from 2005. I have bought from this ebay seller. Be aware that the caps on the nuts are not 100% fastened and should be checked so they do not fall off. RANGE ROVER P38...

Range Rover Sport Grill on P38

Well, if you come over to Norway I could show you how to do it.. It really is not that much work, and it looks very good. I am going to take some pictures of my own car tomorrow, the picture I posted was from an ebay auction where I got the idea. BTW, what is the correct english word for the...

Range Rover Sport Grill on P38

Ok, you should put some tape on it (not sure about the english word, the kind of paper tape you use to mask off what you do not want to paint) Then you measure the distance and mark on the tape the first line of holes. Then you take a cardboard and make holes for the 1. 2. and 3. line of...

Range Rover Sport Grill on P38

Drill holes & paint the original grill instead. Keeps the proportions and looks better than the Sport grills.

    OBD11 - ELM327 ver 1.2a

It also works on my 1998 EU spec Lucas P38, but as wangie mentiones, you do not get anything near the functions of a Faultmate or Rovacom. The ODBC was forced onto the car manufacturers to enable independent garages and goverment test agencies to do their work with standard equipement...

    sub not loud enough .....

You can buy them from nexxia.co.uk, but I am not sure if they are the same, there was some discussions on the rangerovers.net forum that people had problems with them. If you have done a mininum of soldering and follow the instructions carefully you will be able to make your own in less than an...

    P38 book symbol

Could be the blend motors. Get it hooked up to read the fault codes, much quicker then searching in the blind. If it is the blend motors, you can probably fix them for free, see my other post.

    jacking up p38?

The P38 has a frame, so you should NEVER lift it by the body, always by the axel or frame. If you lift the body, you can drag the bags off their fittings, destroy the EAS sensors and actually destroy the panel you lift it by. There is no jack fittings on the body, here is what may happen if you...

    a/t p38 loss of drive................

I would still recomend you to get it hooked up and read the fault code that causes the gearbox fault. This will probably give you a good idea what is wrong.

    a/t p38 loss of drive................

No, mine started to flash the lights, I had it in D, the light next to the stick showed N and the dash display showed 1. SOmetimes I had other combinations and then suddenly it would work for a few days. I got the gearbox fault every time I put it in R. But, I guess it could be all kinds of...

    a/t p38 loss of drive................

If it is the sensor you do it yourself in 30 minutes if you have a new one and 1-2 hours if you fix the one you have. It is really easy to access. A gearbox fault can of course be coused by a lot of other errors as well, my point was that the loss of power you feel was excactly how it was for...

    a/t p38 loss of drive................

Could be a sensor fault... When you get a GEARBOX FAULT the box goes into some sort of safe mode with very poor performance. I had a problem with my gear position switch that resultet in a gearbox fault every time i put it in reverse. That gave the exact same symptom. If you try to start the...

    P38A Fuel problem "continued"

Your problem sounds EXCACTLY as the one my friend had with his DSE. I am not a diesel expert, but I understand there are two pumps, one in the tank to pump the diesel forward, and then one powered by the engine to make the high pressure for the injection.
