we looked at P38s but decided on the L322 as as far as we can tell noone in thr UK has done this before but we have heared of bobtailed P38s. also we are much more familiure with the L322 bots its mechanics and electrics.

it is the front recovery strap, for towing if we get stuck. we are in the habbit of attaching it at the start of the day so when it is needed it is allready inplace.

Sorry for the late reply, looks like I got lucky and a change of gearbox oil etc sorted it, given the amount of metal powder in the oil we drained out I got very lucky and a replacment gearbox is on the cards soon.

sadly I dont know its hostory, vehicle mileage is 202728

any thoughts on what live data to watch? gearbox history unknown

My 2005 TD6 auto, i put it through a carwash and a mile down the road lost drive it felt like a slopping clutch as in engine revs had no effect. I tried in D and R and in Manual mode also in Low range. All had the same result. after half an hour I tried it again and it drove another mile or so...

I have since replaced the ignition switch and removed by bypass in the fuse board and all is well. well got some other issues but those are seperate. thanks all again. re ignitions switches the LR part is the same as the BWM PN 6901961, which is usualy a fraction of the cost of the LR one.

And that has sorted it. Thank you all for your help. I now have bits to add to my spares shelf. I will order a new ignition switch

Fuse 53 gives the expected nominal 12v

Looks like we may be onto somthing, pulled fuse 44 and measuring across the fuse holder. top pin to the ground on the front aux socket (cig lighter) Initially 8v rose to 9.8v with the engine running. to me this is too low, presumably indicating a failing ignition switch? can I feed a good...
