Sat Nav "code problem" - P38/L322

Stopover, thanks for your prompt and very informative post. The most important information for me is that the Mk.3 unit will operate with the old Mk.2 in dash controls. I have a friend with a 2002 L322, so will pay him a visit and see if I can access the "Set" button using his vehicle. When...

Sat Nav "code problem" - P38/L322

I have a MY 2000 Vogue P38. My existing Mk.2 Carin Sat Nav unit has been replaced with a Mk.3 from a MY 2002 L322. The system appears to be functioning, but navigation position of vehicle is a few KM out and I am unable to access the "Set" button. On start up, there is an option of a "code"...

    "Headlights On" warning malfunction

Hi Dave, My problem was solved when my remote key opening stopped working. I replaced the latch mechanism in the drivers door and not only was my "remote locking problem" fixed, but the "headlights on" message re-appeared! Cheers, Tonys

Yes, I agree with you I am just trying to keep the car as original as possible and was hoping to get the CD unit replaced or repaired. Thanks for getting back to me. Cheers, Tony.

    Mysterious Key Fob "Synch" Problem

There is no LED flash when turning the key fob to start the engine. I disconected, waited 5 mins. then reconnected four times - no luck in clearing the fault. Do you think the RF Receiver is the problem? Cheers, Tony.

    Mysterious Key Fob "Synch" Problem

Hi Guys! Any ideads on this? The fuel pump was replaced on my MY 2000 P38. Naturally the battery was disconneced during this. On re-connection of the battery my two key fobs will not operate the remote locking. Both fobs are in top condition and I replaced the barreries in one just a month ago...

    EAS Driver Pack Install

I am not a mechanic, but do get fairly involved in fixing my beloved P38. I had two driver packs replaced, when they were not really the problem. After replacement, I still had the "rising to Wade Height" and then the "Christmas Tree Lights" coming on which necessitated resetting with the RWS...

    "Headlights On" warning malfunction

Can't find anything with the search feature, but was wondering if anyone could "shed some light" (sorry for the pun), on my small problem. When turning off the engine with the headlights on, removing the ignition key and opening the door (and shutting it) - no "beep" and warning of the...

    Rust Removal Using Electrolysis

Great article, probably of not much use to most P38A drivers, but very factual and accurate. A lot of time and experience was put into this post and I think we should acknowledge this imput. Compared to some of the "childish" and inane posts we sometimes get this is a "breath of fresh air"! Tonys

EAS - software & cable issues

Hi Marmite, Totally agree! I purchased the cable from Storey and bought the USB / Serial cable adaptor locally. I have had no problems in using the free software and as you say, we should support Storey Wilson in any way we can and if this means purchasing the genuine product for $30 - great...

    EAS Compressor hot

Thanks Wills, Have loosend off the Nyloc nuts and it is quieter. I think I will replace the rubber mounts, I am sure this will help even more? It does not run all that often, mainly first trip in the day. Interesting enough, the compresser will cut out quite often as I release the foot brake...

    EAS Compressor hot

TWEETS, Thank you for that, sounds logical? If that is the case, I will not worry so much when the compressor keeps on pumping! Regards, Tonys

    EAS Compressor hot

Hi Wills, You are indeed a valuable forum member, your advice has been invaluble to a novice such as I! Just a few more "simple" questions: I have just replaced my "drive pack", which (thanks to advice from the forum), seems to have fixed my "fault" problem. I (for the first time, I think)...
