Hi Yes I do fill it to the top whenever I fill up but this has only just recently started happening. It's now half a tank and it still leaks.

Did you find the reason for the heat? I have the same problem. Never noticed it before but it's so hot I can smell something burning. There's a bracket inside the battery box and I can barley touch it!

Has anyone noticed that soem 300tdi air cleaners have a plastic tube with small fan blades on them? I replaced mine yesterday and took the plastic tube off the old and slid it onto the new one. I can't really see the point of it but I did it anyway. Any ideas?

Thanks for your response. The right hand drawing is the one I am using. I am sure that I tried that route - jumping the feed (to a relay) with a short wire across the switch to one of the free connectors and then connecting an earth to the other. It makes sense so I will try it again tomorrow...

I have a Defender 300tdi (1998) and am upgrading the headlights to Halogen Crystals. My question is can I put in 100w H4 bulbs and if so will I need to fit a relay? Or will it be better just to stick to the usual 55watts?

Anyone know where I can get a magnetic sump plug for the 300tdi? No one seems to make one and I can only see the smaller 2.5 type. Any info would be gratefully received.

Just in case someone is looking for an answer to this I have found one. I got an old sack truck tyre, cut in half and it fits nicely over the hitch and protrudes over the front while I line up - no scratches on me X member now!
