that does look good! my only piece of advice would be to remove the fan belt. Last time I pressure washed my engine it squealed like a bastard! It'll take you longer to find your 15mm socket than it will to remove belt! :)

I've managed lo blow the fuel stop solenoid wire off in the past! took me a couple of minutes to suss that one out! :)

300tdi auto should be 52 I think. It's a subtle difference but you should feel it. Give it gentle throttle over and underv 52mph and you should feel it. Revs sound correct at 2250 at 60mph.

It shouldn't be that hard to do! Try it with someone elses torque wrench. If you've left your wrench tightened up, you might have knackered it!

the earth strap from the battery is a good place to check. the strap goes to the gearbox. Make sure it's not corroded!

I like stick welding a lot. Not even remotely suited to bodywork though! Great for chassis repairs though!

Thanks for that. I've had a good read of that thread. Im going for the box section route too :) £40 for two half-metre lengths of 60x120X3mm from a local fabricator. Not bad :)
