My disco is R reg 97 but says on log book firs regestered 98.The heads what am taking off are 10 studs,the heads i was gonna fit are recon 14 stud,will they go on.
This might seem a daft question,but av never done it before.I would like to put some photoes of my head gasket replacement,and show you how dirty everything is under the plenum chamber and round the top of the engine.Never seen so mutch dirt it's really filthy.How do i put photoes up please.

set of recon heads on the way,acid cleaned,hot preasure tested decorked,skimmed,valve seats cut,guids replaced,seat recut,valves replaced new stem and seals,with springs.£300.00.composit gasket set from rimmer brothers £109.00.Hope the blocks ok.
As you know,am having trouble with my 1998 3.9 v8 disco,but i won't be beaten.Theres a set of 10 studded 3.9 recon heads on ebay.just wanna know is the 10 studs the later ones to fit mine.Also with them being skimmed,will i need a thicker head gasket.
Can someone please tell me Which head gasket set part number for a 1998 v8 disco 1.And which thermostat and temp sender part number.theres so many.cheers.
I flushed the cooling system out,refilled it and run it.Sat in the cab watching the temp needle.Low and behold,the needle never went above 1/2 way and it boiled.
how do i check the head gasket,theres no water in the oil or round the oil filler cap.doesent seem to be any steam out the exhaust eather.With a bit of luck,my haynes manual will arrive tomorrow.
Disco 1 v8 over heating.Iv,e been had,only bought it last week,fitted a new waterpump and thermastat took it for a spin and it still overheated when stood still.I was gonna flush it out,but when i checked the rad its near new.Since overheating it no longer runs on lpg. What else can i try before...
I unlocked it,opened the bonnet and was doing something.then i closed the bonnet but left it just on the latch then locked my doors while i nipped off somewhere.When i came back i opened the bonnet with the alarm on.But i sorted it out,its all good.
