As you know,am having trouble with my 1998 3.9 v8 disco, but i won't be beaten.Theres a set of 10 studded 3.9 recon heads on ebay.just wanna know is the 10 studs the later ones to fit mine. Also with them being skimmed, will i need a thicker head gasket.

You can fit 10 stud heads to yours, there are only those and 14 stud by memory.

Use a composite gasket, beware of cheap ebay gasket sets, better pay out for a Victor Reinz set than have to strip it all down again later, but the full set isn't cheap, best we found was £95 PLUS VAT from factors in Bedford. I did post the details about a month or so back.

Get new bolts, preferably genuine, but that's another chunk of money too.

10 studs makes no difference neither does skimming unless it effects tappets, ie skimming head effectively lengthens push rod

Never used the brand, but the Spanish do make good knives. You need to know if they are stretch bolts or not if you intend to use them.
I've never used stretch bolts on either type head or either type gasket
