    Confusing oil level S3

It'll always read high when pulling straight out of the engine as the oil has splashed round. As above, take out and wipe before re-inserting to take a measurement . Also remember, if parked nose down on a hill, level will be high, if nose up then it will be low so check on the flat if possible...

What is it and why is it leaking ?

No, the hex is on the engine side of the dome, you'll get it with an open ended spanner. You will get some oil coming out when you take it out. I wrapped my new one with PTFE tape before fitting and no leaks since

Series 3 How should the MOT tester test my handbrake.

Having used the hand brake to do an emergency stop in the middle of manchester once I can say its perfectly adequate at stopping you in a hurry. 1975 Series 3 Rebuild (The second time around)

    Theseus's Land Rover

My granddad did something similar years ago. He had a blue petrol which was roadworthy and he bought the diesel (which made its way to me years later). He simply took the plate off the petrol and put it on the diesel and drove it back home. Old man driving an old blue land rover, whos to know...

Not sure on s2 but definitely on my series 3. The semi-bumpers go above the front bumper being bolted on top of it on military ones

Series 2 So what was hanging here then? (Back side of a station wagon question)

It is for the aluminium cover on the inside that covers the wiring for the rear lights. My 88" has a hole both sides in this postion for them
