have to agree with ratty on this one as same way was taught to recovery from same situations ( took a IVR course most probaly same as ratty ??) and agree that having pulled many gm / vauhalls have never had a rear towing point break or even bend as yet and been in recovery trade for over 15 years

think just resetting the wheel postion is best as know all was ok prevoiusly just out of line due to horn problem thanks for advise peeps

hi landy peeps have a bit of a problem in as i had to remove the steering wheel the other night in a hurry due to horn sticking on and locals not happy lol when put the wheel back on i thought had lined it up correctly but is out of line ??? is there a easy way to make sure i get it lined...

think by time you bought or sourced and fabbed it you probaly would of spent same as buying a second hand one off e bay or like , did think on same lines and ended up looking about and bought one for 20 quid so if you search you will hopefully get lucky as i did happy hunting ps what sort...

sorry just re read the posting and nuts are spacer to wheel , maybe able to get the nuts from a engineering/fastner stockist as is standard theard so shouldnt be major problem if you take a sample to local stockist and depth of spacer or take spacer with you should be able to match up for...

think if you look at spacer the nuts are on the studs ?? as it says in posting " comes with nuts but 2 are damaged" why not pm the seller and ask the question ???

dont know which ones your looking at mate as you can get some of the cheaper type that are like over sized wahers and even those come with extended studs ie you have a threaded unit which screw on to exiting studs and extend them ( not reaaly that good as over stress the studs due to length )...

have measured up spacers ( had to wait for downpour to stop ) they are 32 mm thick so 64 mm wider track , also you get nuts with spacers just make sure you fit them right way round and tourqe correctly , can get small tubes of loctite stud-loc from motor factors quite cheaply , also wheels will...

i have spacers on my 300tdi make for a better turning circle also seems to make more stable as wider track not sure if 30mm as think the work out slishtly over size as 65 mm wider across axle plan if remember correctly ?? will measure them up and add to posting if you want ??

agree with above if you go to local diy store and get 2 1/2 bsp brass blanking plugs problem sorted lol dont buy the cheaper s/c steel ones as tend to oxidize when put in to ali castings causing them to crack the ali when you have to remove them hope that makes sense ???

Hi all, read the info and watched the " how to " video on here so thought would take top off inj pump and move the diaphram as wanted a little bit more omph when pulling away , well done as it says loosen off screws/torq fasteners and gently lifted away the cover but on info etc says pop mark on...

have used this winch in the recovery trade and always been a good tool to work with . have you had problems with this brand ?? always found they have a good spare parts back up and never had a failure if looked after well . but this is from a pro series as know they have a budget range as well...

yes agree with you on that but worked out quite good as these are a class winch and was lucky that was able to change cable as we make our own in work so was changed when i fitted it and seems to work very well as same as a super winch but lots cheaper lol

sorry forgot to add seen in on e bay just type in " 13000lb winch " there is 2 versions on offer one had wire other is rope for a little extra cost . where in somerset are you located??

hi have just purchased a good quality winch and at a good price 13000 lb and comes with 2 remotes as well as a fixed lead and all fixtures and fitting cost inc postage was 275 all in so bargain ( boss put me on to this as work as a breakdown driver and he said would be silly not to have it lol)...

yes know that feeling lol as mine went in early for mot and was told for the year it was as solid as a rock ! mot bloke even said about let him know if wanted to sell it lol
