Aye, that's the same city that's bin having a lot of Landys nicked from recently, I've bin pulled in me Deepender, and get ANPR'd every time I go past a squad car in me Rangie.
I put a full set of new 9/16" ones when I did my props last summer. The old bolts are perfect for spring seat retainers when you shear them off trying to change yer springs ;)
Aye, GEMS v Lucas Hotwire v Flapper airflow meters v twin 1 3/4" SU's would be a ggod un. The May edition of LRE went into detail about the casting process of the blocks and heads and how crap the LR manufacturing was as they weren't too fussed about the positional centres of the bores, which...
Reet, you want flat spanners, quite slim profile - I've got a little stumpy Britool one that you stick on the nut - might require some persuasion with the universal persuasion tool. Thin flat 14mm ring on the bolt and turn the bolt - yes, I said turn the bolt. If the other end of the prop is...
Probably Zinga - used widely in the marine environment, but also for coating motorway crash barriers and numerous other everyday applications.
Zinga - Galvanic Protection
Aye, undo diff end first. I use a stubby 9/16" spanner and a standard 14mm ring spanner. Can drop a shaft, change UJ's and wang it back in about 45 mins ;)
Disco 200TDi has same power output as Defender 300TDi (slightly tuned down the engines in the Def.), has an LT77 gearbox instead of R380, a little bit rougher round the edges, and you need a Steve Parker downpipe to mate the exhaust to the turbo - Defs have turbo on top, Discos have it on bottom.
I know a lovely black 110 up for sale next month. Had a full rebuild 2 years ago by Ray at 4xfortyone - was originally ex-army 110, but not frontline vehicle so still had 4 doors. Disco 200TDi engine, drives sweet as a nut, but a surplus of Landies is forcing my mate to sell it (his wifes...
Isn't there one you can print off somewhere on the landrover manuals download page Land Rover Owner Information or the Spanish one listed in the FAQ section.
Using LPG, prefer Morrisons to Shell as it seems to give slightly better mileage. Putting expensive stuff in, I use Shell Optimax or Sainsburys superplus unleaded (98 Octane).
Once you've cleaned yer diesel injectors, use a bit of Millers Oils Cetane booster/injector cleaner in every tank. Works out at adding an extra 3p per litre (so what) but cracks off without glow plugs first time every time, runs better and gives better economy. I use that in me Deepender 200...
Not too much of a job - a full weekend if it doesn't rain/Doris needs to go shopping etc. While your at it, I would check your rockers and tappets at the same time as these will be due for changing as well. Tappets are not expensive and you can get a full kit including various shime, it's just...
I got a HiLift which I find is OK for changing wheels, but for working I got meself one of them 3t trolley jacks from Halfrauds with a 600mm jacking height. Wang that under your trailing arm or diff and I got a pair of 3t axle stands to be on safe side anorl.
Haven't got my RAVE disk to hand, but roughly speaking, what is the procedure for removing the rear body panels on an RRC, specifically to check for tinworm around the inner arches. Any special tools/adhesives/fasteners required?
TIA
£4.5k for a Disco ES W reg - get yer bumps felt. I walked away from a really tidy LPG converted W reg at £3.2 as I was gettin me eye wiped. If you go for a Disco V8, make sure it's very low mileage or LPG converted, and don't pay over £3, save the rest for repairs.
