    CB Radio Earth

Not neccessarily. They are built to be about right as far as I am aware, but you should still check the SWR. If its way off you could blow your rig, but sounds like you should be safe from that with your earthing job. Springer aerials allow you to tune them for better SWR by undoing the small...

    Accessory Socket Wiring

Ok cheers Yes current supply is switched through ignition (the origianal fag lighter). I want to keep it ignition switched if I can. Just running a tomtom, dash cam, occationally charge the mobile or the blue tooth kit. May pump a camp bed up sometime, but probably with other toys off...

    Accessory Socket Wiring

Folks, just bought three of these on eblag and I'm going to fit them in the cig lighter/rear wiper plate to run me toys. I'm planning on taking the existing feed and earth from the cig lighter and just connect to all three sockets, probably with an extra in line fuse for safety. Currently...

    The Defender drip

Mine does this too, so I guess I got one with the option. I also have a water feature in the roof to add to the entertainment.

    Dam flippin ARB joints

Update: New rear joints fitted. Piece of cake, took all of ten minutes. However, point to note, the lower bolts were destroyed on removal of the old joints, so order these as well! The ones I got did not include new nuts! (Cheers Rimmer). Also, 3 of the 4 flippin joints I bought did not...

    Mot

Over the years I've found that no matter how long you spend on a vehicle before the MOT, chances are it will fail on something you did'nt even know it had!! Let the garage find the problem, fix it, take it back.:D (Naturally I assume it's reasonably well maintained and the flipping doors...

    Dam flippin ARB joints

Well, failed MOT:mad: Failed on three out of four ARB joints. They were completely shot to be fair. What a complete B*stard to get off and only managed the rears so far. Lashings of plus gas but still needed all my stength on a breaker bar and tiny fractions of turns all the way. Ended up...

Ok fair enough. I'll let you carry on then:)

    Chassis paint

Stupid question time - Why are you painting a galvanised chassis? And, while I'm at it, why isn't chassis spelt shasee?

    I'll name that noise in.....

Hmmm. Out of gear and in HI/LOW neutral, quiter, but still there:confused: Effing MOT in the morning!! Typical. But not an MOT issue me thinks. Good thing is I have tomorrow off work to investigate. Edit: If all else fails, I'll just have to get another pair of speakers and an amp! :-)

    I'll name that noise in.....

No I did'nt split the prop. Hung it to the side held up by cable ties, all propper like:) Is it possible to turn it out of alignment, even by a 1/4 when I put it back on?? I guess not:(

    I'll name that noise in.....

I will give it a try. It actually still makes the noise when out of gear, just not as much.

    I'll name that noise in.....

Another clue?? On the weekend I changed my handbrake cable, with all the strip drum down that involves. But getly appling handbrake when slowing makes no difference and I just felt the drum after a 35 mile drive and it is not hot:confused: It is possible I turned the UJ when I put the prop...

    I'll name that noise in.....

Morning All Oh dear, new noise, think it's gearbox. I will try and describe: When comming off the power, still in gear, any gear, sound like a playing card in a bicycle wheel (remember that!) only very dull, low pitched and kind of muffled. Frequency drops with reducing speed. If I dip...

    Air filter housing washer

I assume this is the ****ty large skinny ring between the main body of the housing and the end cover. If so, I was going to get a strip of bike tyre inner tube, cut to lenght, glue together and use as a wrap arround to cover this join in the two halves of the housing. Bit like a head band...
