    Help needed identifying these springs

Are these for a 110 Defender by any chance? They don't match any of the colour codes that I know of. Anyone recognizes where they belong? Front? Rear? Which vehicle? Thanks in advance.

    Help Indentifying Mystery Relay

I think the occasion when I had the relay out and the defender did not start was due to the same ignition switch issue above. What I can do is since the switch has been replaced is take the same relay back out and see if the defender starts. Just for closure.

    Help Indentifying Mystery Relay

No sir you are 100% correct! It is indeed the wiper relay. I comfirmed earlier today. Funny thing is... my original issue (which I did not mention) was difficulty starting. Upon turning ignition key the glow plug symbol and oil pressure symbol would both come on but would cut out quickly and...

    Help Indentifying Mystery Relay

Wow. Thanks for the quick response. But here is where it gets a little interesting... the defender does not start with this relay removed. Upon turning the key I am just getting a very brief flash of the oil pressure icon and glow plug icon. Glow plugs timer does not work and engine does not...

    Help Indentifying Mystery Relay

Hi, I have attached photos of a relay I have located behind my instrument cluster. I suspect it is the source of an annoying intermittent clicking noise I've been getting for quite some time now. In addition the pins and base of the relay are showing signs of corrosion. The photos were sourced...

    RH Side Footwell (Extended) questions

Greetings, Has anyone ever fitted a RHS extended footwell supplied by YRM in his/her defender? If so, I have two questions: 1. How high up does the "Extension piece" reach on the bulkhead, will it include the area that the door "Checker" bolts onto? (Position #9 in my uploaded schematic). 2...

    HELP headlights won't work.

I agree with Mcclegend. Sounds like the switch. Remove and examine carefully. My money is on the contacts which the selector lever slides over being worn.

Please.. your opinions are needed. I am lost..

Why would a front ATB coupled with a standard rear diff cause awful handling? Wouldn't the ATB at the front help keep the tracking in check particularly during acceleration and cornering? Plus, the tyres are 265/75R16s, not exactly "giant" in my opinion. I do accept your point on the diffs...

What is your train of thought in relation to this?

Please.. your opinions are needed. I am lost..

To be totally honest I thought about this but i dismissed it because the angle of the front diff is not that steep. I believe that the lift is around 1"to 1.5". It is bugging me now that you thought about it as well.

Please, your opinions as always are much appreciated: Vehicle: 2004 Defender 110, Old man Emu heavy/medium duty springs resulting in approximately 2” of lift with 31” tires on alloys. 2 Years ago: Problem: . Vehicle lurching/ bunny hopping during over run in low gears. . Loud metallic rattle...

    Clunk on driveline

Transfer box has several covers/plates which carry gaskets/rtv. There are also the seals for the output flanges mentioned above and a seal on the input side of the transfer box where it is mated to the gearbox. It depends on exactly what type of work the garage did to the box that would...

Transfer Box Output - Too Stiff?

Makes sense. To be honest I remember about a year ago when I started to notice this banging issue in the drivetrain and posted to this forum you had hinted to the center diff being the root cause. Here I am months later... It is scary how you well you know these machines. Cheers.

Transfer Box Output - Too Stiff?

Thanks. My concern is that the effort to turn the flanges is a bit more than how it was previously. Honestly, I will not describe it as tight, but definitely there is a difference. It will not spin with me exerting effort with my hand on the flange. Holding both flanges and rocking shows that...

Drivetrain Clunk.... I'm at my wit's end

I created a new thread describing how the center diff feels after the upgrade when the front or rear flange is turned by hand.

Drivetrain Clunk.... I'm at my wit's end

No, pic doesn't do it justice i'm afraid. Condition of pins and gears was ok. Copper washers had totally disintegrated. Installed new center pin (HD) and new copper washers.
