    f'lander limp mode

Thanks for the interest in my problem and the heads up with the EGR. I've had the live data on my Lynx reading the fuel pressure which climbs to 85000 to 90000 then the low pressure side drops away which I'm thinking is the ecu protecting the system? Is it enough to disconnect the vacuum pipe...

    f'lander limp mode

Have my 2004 td4 with p1190 constantly causing problems and any pointers would save a hot bath & razor blade! I've been reading most of the faults found and must say that the folks on here are brilliant-just one more glimpse of cleverness and we can fix this. The car revs freely out of gear up...

    Td5 auto gearbox clunk

Hope you can help, my Discovery Td5 changes down with a terrible chunk instead of a smooth change. When I replaced the engine, I had to relax the bellhousing fasteners to allow the flexiplate to line up with the torque converter-could that have caused this fault? Would appreciate any...

    autobox flexiplate alignment

After replacing the engine on my Td 5 I found that the flexiplate was very tight against the three torque converter fixing holes. The only way to align the bolt holes was by undoing all the bellhousing bolts a few turns, which relaxed the flexiplate against the torque converter allowing...

    clutch iisues

Bit late, but just picked up on this problem. Had total mare (4 days and gearbox in and out 5 times!) with the one same thing. New master and slave cylinder fitted at the same time as good quality clutch disc and cover. After bleeding just could not get a gear although would start in gear. In...

    Advice needed

I once saw a race prepped Escort Mk1 driven by a bloke with clutch leg missing & he'd adapted a motorbike clutch lever attached to the gearstick so he just grabbed the gearlever & squeezed the cutch at the same moment. worked really well like most simple things do.

    Abs lights etc

Thanks for the info & links, I'll be checking the hub sensors first although I had a similar fault on a 2004 Discovery & a new battery cured the problem.?!?! I don't think I'm going to be that lucky with this car-so all your help is appreciated!

disco 2 clutch change details and prices ??

Fairly easy if you put engine crane through passengers' side& attach sling around gearbox only & not around transfer box as well as this lets the whole thing balance & easier to align shaft to NEW spigot bearing. Take care not to pinch clutch slave cyl pipe in bell housing (profit from my...

    Whoops!

Thanks for help on that one; tried cleaning the ECU plugs which were oiled up but no change there. The battery became tired with the constant cranking, so I replaced it with the one off the Defender (proper car).....started first crank!!! Now no longer missfiring, starts without using heater...

Remove seized heater plug in L series head

Trying to replace all heater plugs in "99 Freelander & no.2 plug is stuck in the cyl head with the top part just turning in the socket! Its the easiest of the four to get to but is there any way of removing without having to take off cyl head for machining etc?? Would appreciate any...

    Bignose

Bring on the **** taking-it's the real thing I miss living here! That & a decent pint. The French have a weird sense of humour, noticeable by the amount of Rav4s' & BMW Xfactors around abouts! So many really good cross country routes here and not enough Landys on them.

    Whoops!

Why do TD5's have such a dislike for humans? Can someone help with a prob? 2002 Disco TD5 had a missfire @ 2800-3000rpm, changed air filt, & fuel filter, purged system, now non-start!!! Tried all sorts, found heater plugs all dead-wait 3 days for new @ 20€ each! Thought prob found, fit plugs...
