Hellocan anyone help me ,i need advice on putting an automatic gearbox into a series one,two or three .

Since i lost my leg i find pushing and holding down a clutch pedal very hard now.

So i am looking for a nice landrover to convert ,has anyone done this before or knows what is needed.

Somone said just buy a discovery, but i dont like the style of the model.

Thanks

Glyn.

To be honest, unless you have a fair bit side aside for the conversion, you're probably best off keeping an eye on ebay, auto-trader, pistonheads et al for a series already converted...it'd be a 2 or a 3...if anyone puts an auto box in a series 1 i shall personally rip their legs off...no offence intended.

as dominic says a bit of engineering you could make the clutch a lever rather than pedal like a hydraulic hand brake set up wouldnt be easy to use but easier than pressing a clutch with no leg!

I once saw a race prepped Escort Mk1 driven by a bloke with clutch leg missing & he'd adapted a motorbike clutch lever attached to the gearstick so he just grabbed the gearlever & squeezed the cutch at the same moment. worked really well like most simple things do.
