Disco 2 Wheel and Tyre combo confirmation

Doesn't look like that any more, now four inch lift and 285/75. Also worth noting that 265/70 work fine on standard alloys, but with spacers or wheels with additional offset like the mods, they catch on the rear offroad unless you have SLS in raised mode. 255/70 or 255/75 will be nice though...

Disco 2 Wheel and Tyre combo confirmation

Black mods on a disco are awesome . . . but I maybe a little biased. :D The modular steels have an offset of ET25, this means they will poke out about 30mm more than standard. The same effect as fitting +30mm spacers. Here is mine when she was standard height, with the modular wheels and...

    Aggressive muds & weak diffs?

Thanks mate. yeh mine has just been promoted to full time toy, wouldn't have been considering it otherwise. If a do blow something it can sit there until it gets fixed. On the other hand I would still rather it didn't!

    Aggressive muds & weak diffs?

Interesting stuff. I'm tempted to throw them on and see what happens. DiscoPol what size special tracks do you run?

    Aggressive muds & weak diffs?

Great info Dave thank you. I do consider myself to be pretty mechanically sympathetic when offroading, I like the old moto 'as fast as needed, as slow as possible' (or however that goes). I guess that's an advantage the D2 has because traction control means you don't need the speed to...

    Aggressive muds & weak diffs?

Trying to do a bit of reading and research but getting a bit confused, hopefully some of you wise old chaps can help. I'm looking at some aggressive muds like Fedima Sirroco, Insa Turbo etc basically the Simex pattern. I see loads of these about on D1s, Defenders and RRC but as soon as you...

    Wheel & Tyre Options

Pull the fuses out. I can't remember which ones but google will tell you. You'll still need to do it properly but it might help with the beeping in the meantime. Keep a listen out for the air compressor clicking as well. Mine kept draining my battery even with it disabled.

    Looking to buy

If I were buying again, I'd buy a basic S spec (with no sunroofs!!) then retrofit a second hand good condition ES leather interior. Best of all worlds! I'm not sure I'd even miss the aircon tbh.

    Wheel & Tyre Options

Nope. The only important factors are offset, tyre width and tyre diameter. The ratio of rubber to metal is irrelevant. Get em on and make em fit ;)

    Wheel & Tyre Options

Mine are 285/75r16 and a four inch lift give or take a bit Yours will definitely go on, whether they rub a bit off will be trial and error really

lift kit advise on 2001 d2

Depends which pics mate, I've changed it about a bit. She's now on 285/75r16 Hankook RT03s. I had to add 30mm spring spacers to avoid rubbing though so she's now about 4 inch lift give or take a bit. Here's how she sits now:
