What sort of noise is it ??? if it's screeching it could be a damp belt. Are you sure it's coming from the tensioner ??? as you have your water pump, alternator, power steering pump, and air compressor, down there as well.

Try cleaning the fuel rail pressure sensor plug and contacts as suggested before you go spending any money on glow plugs. All you need to use is electricle contact cleaner, comes in a spray can from Halfords.

That's what I do is wait for the glow plug light to go out. I'll try and clean the plug. Is it the one on the end of the fuel rail ???.

Is that the plug at the end of the fuel rail ???. Just unplug it and spray some electrical contact cleaner it there is that right.

Hi SV, I think he means on start-up, mine's the same on first start-up it's like the engine is firing on 3 cylinders for a few seconds then it's all fine. It's just those few seconds with mine.

Just a thought. What are the break pads like. If they are right down it could be the metal on the pad's touching the disk when you go around the roundabout.

The one he/we were talking about was on the showroom floor, it looked brand new to me, didn't look like a demonstrator. The servicing was £199, total for five years servicing.
